Nike has long used Kevin Durant’s signature shoes as something of a storytelling vehicle, making the line a deeply personal one among the brand’s stable of marquee athletes. This upcoming Nike KD 7 pays tribute to Durant’s aunt Pearl, who passed away in 2000. A prominent figure during the athlete’s formative years, Aunt Pearl lives on in this striking all-white KD 7 model, featuring metallic gold accents and a molded midfoot strap that takes on an angel-wing likeness. Pink Flywire cables and the pink “Y” emblem at the heel denote a partnership with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, while an inscription on the interior of the strap bears a dedication to Aunt Pearl.
