Everyone’s favorite Tennessee whiskey brand is unveiling a colorless, unaged rye whiskey, also known as a white whiskey, for the first time since the Prohibition Era. Jack Daniel’s white whiskey will be available nationwide early next year.
According to Uncrate, the white liquor has “a sweet and fruity smell, plenty of rye bite, and a crisp, dry finish.”
It contains a combination of 70 percent rye – 19 percent above the legal minimum for a rye whiskey –18 percent corn and 12 percent malted barley.
“We feel that whiskey enthusiasts and Jack Daniel’s aficionados alike will enjoy discovering the new and unique tasting experience,” said Jeff Arnett, of Lynchburg, Tennessee, who is the seventh master distiller in Jack Daniel’s famed 146-year history.
Whiskey gets its normal golden color from being aged. Since this whiskey is unaged, it will remain colorless.
Jack Daniel’s Unaged Tennessee Rye will be available from January at selected stores across the U.S. in 750ml bottles, priced at $49.99.
