After a red hot start the Knicks are finding themselves in some unfamiliar territory after losing four games in a row. And while most of their injured players have returned to full health, it seems some of that early season chemistry they had is now lacking.
Amar’e Stoudemire has an idea of what these problems can be credited to. During a recent interview with the NY post he made a bold statement.
“We got plenty of swagger, we may have too much swag.
We got to get more greedy, from the standpoint of wanting to defend, wanting to win and having a sense of urgency. We have to want to win.
We got to have the mentality to want to win. It don’t matter if it looks good or not. We just got to get it done. It’s not a great feeling right now.’’
While many people may be quick to hate, the man has a point. The Knicks have that overconfident New York swag and that maybe what has been hurting them lately.
They must re-dedicate themselves to defense and share the ball instead of going iso or chucking up threes every play. But with the stars they have and a coach like Mike Woodson, we should surely see them get back on track and start smacking teams again. Knickstape.
