After starring as the doomed Lord and Lady Macbeth in last year’s Macbeth, Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard now headline the long-awaited, bombastic adaptation of Ubisoft’s best-selling video game franchise Assassin’s Creed. Premiered during last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, this first trailer follows Fassbender as protagonist Callum Lynch who is sent back to the Spanish Inquisition by Cotillard’s character to duke it out with the Templar organization. Check out the first poster below, and anticipate Assassin’s Creed to open on December 21 this year.
