South Carolina-based automotive company Himalaya has unveiled the Summit Series, offering its take on the Land Rover Defender 110. This reworked classic Defender is, arguably, one of the ultimate 4×4 SUVs around thanks to it now featuring a 6.2-liter factory supercharged LT4 engine producing 650 HP and 650 lb-ft. of torque.
This new boost completely changes the dynamics of the Defender, meaning it has been underpinned with plenty of mechanical upgrades to help it harness its power. For example, Himalaya has added new Dynatrac axles that help put the power on the road efficiently, while an eight-speed automatic gearbox has been implemented for an easier driving experience.
Elsewhere, Himalaya introduces a new suspension with coilovers and hydraulic bump stops (perfect for added off-roading capabilities), a state-of-the-art purpose-built Brembo brake system made exclusively for this machine, a roll cage, Fox shocks, and skid plates at both ends of the car.
While its outside might be a brute, complete with billeted rims, dark paint, an aggressive presence, and added height, the inside is a far more welcoming atmosphere. High-grade leather covers the bespoke seats and dashboard, while a new hi-fi system and contemporary climate control station have also been added.
Himalaya’s Summit Series Defenders are built on commission and range between $250,000 USD and $300,000 USD depending on the level of upgrades you require. Take a look at the car above, and find out more about the Himalaya Summit Series Land Rover Defender on Himalaya’s website.
