Rob Konrad played in the NFL as a fullback for the Miami Dolphins from 1999 to 2004.
But, his biggest feat came recently in the form of survival when he swam nine miles after falling off his boat.
According to ESPN, Konrad was fishing alone off the coast of South Florida when he plunged overboard. With his 36-foot boat on autopilot, he had no choice but to make the journey back to shore on his own.
Friends started to worry when he didn’t return home for dinner and Coast Guard deployed a helicopter to search for him.
Konrad was found on the beach at 4:40 am and was treated for hypothermia; he has since been released.
While Rob has not yet made a statement, one thing is for certain: Five years in the NFL prepares you for situations like these.
