What do you do when you’re a former NFL free agent who finally convinces a team to sign you to a new two-year-, $2.8 million deal? Well besides rigorous training, why not get caught up in some good old fashioned prostitute solicitating sting?
That’s exactly what linebacker Quentin Groves did to the Cleveland Browns as the newly signed defensive stopper is already in a world full of trouble, and shame, for on of the most embarrassing crimes you can possibly commit as a professional athlete.
He was arrested after a three-day sting in Ohio where he was allegedly trying to clap some cheap hooker cheeks. Come on guy. You’re a pro athlete who just signed an enormous deal! Go get some groupie love or at least a high-end escort.
Groves stupidly responded to a sex ad on Craigslist where he drove out to meet the woman. He negotiated all details with the undercover cop and was set up in an unfortunate sting.
Groves was reportedly in possession of $195.70 and a box of condoms, seized as evidence, at the time of his arrest last week. At least 14 others were arrested in the three-day sting, according to Cleveland Scene.
That’s what you get for playing in a small market like Cleveland. There isn’t too much to offer when it comes to pretty ladies so you have to go out of your way just to get some action. Best of luck on your charge, Quentin.
