Do you ever walk on the streets, see a man who stands out from the crowd and think to yourself “that guy looks like a made man”?
The funny part is that the “successful-looking guy,” most of the times, is not wearing anything fancy or luxurious, but by the way he presents himself, you just get a feeling that “he must be rich.”
I get that impression almost every day. I also noticed this has nothing to do with being beautiful or not. In fact, most of the guys who “look rich” are not the model-looking type.
What is that successful look about?
If you ask a guy who was born in a rich family, always got everything he wanted, to the point where “being rich” was just part of his daily routine, he will probably not know why you think he looks different.
Some men have always been wealthy and always hung out with other wealthy people, so it is not something they will be thinking about every day.
It’s important to understand the mentality behind looking rich and being a success. I believe there’s a big difference between the guy who is wealthy, educated and polite and the rich kid who brags about his money and doesn’t know how to dress or talk.
I see the rich-looking, successful man as a gentleman who knows how to behave in public and have a smart conversation. He doesn’t need to show off what he has and doesn’t need to ask for acceptance because he knows his true value.
Do not mistake it with vanity: I totally agree that wearing full designer monogrammed clothes, chains and talking like a douche is pure stupidity. What I am trying to show you is how to present your best self.
Look at James Bond; he is one of the best examples of how to look cool, and rich, and successful at the same time.
So here are some pointers on how to look like a rich man and ready yourself for success without being mistaken for a douche.
1. Be confident at all times.
I believe one of the main characteristics of a successful-looking man is his confidence. This is one of his strongest “skills.”
Confidence is not something you get when you become a rich man, and it is not bought with money. In fact, most wealthy men had to learn how to build their confidence before they got to where they are today.
Confidence means feeling good about yourself and always making sure you command respect from others.
One thing about a confident alpha male is that he owns his space. Everyone sees he is a man of power, not just wealthy.
2. Stay up to date.
Knowledge is also power. A successful man also knows what is happening around him and around the world.
If all your conversations start with sport, girls or beer, you should see what you can do to step up your game.
Most wealthy people are also part of some kind of business, so you should know about the latest news in the business world.
Also, know your field. If you are in the fashion business, for example, you should know everything about it, and if people ask you any question about something related to it, you should be able to answer it.
How do you stay up to date? Read, read and read.

3. Dress well.
Like I said, don’t mistake a rich, successful man with the guy who wears full-printed designer logos.
If you want to look like a rich man, you need to be elegant. That doesn’t mean you need to wear a suit all day long, but you do need to know what you’re wearing.
The well-dressed man doesn’t show much or any logo on his outfits. You know the guy has style by the quality of his clothes and how he put the pieces together.
What most people who do not understand style think is you need a lot of money to look good.
That’s totally not true. Most well-dressed men wear neutral colors with no prints and not much detail.
If you see some stylish celebrity like David Beckham, Ryan Gosling, Daniel Craig, etc… most of the time they are wearing a white or black T-shirt with no print, logos or anything that will make the look too busy.
The fit of your clothes is also super important. You need to know when a piece of an outfit fits well or not.
You won’t see a stylish rich guy wearing pants or suits that aren’t tailored to his body. Each piece of the outfit must look like it was made exclusively for you.
I personally believe all men should wear slim fit pants and jackets. I take all my denim pants to my tailor for him to adjust the length of them. You don’t want to have extra fabric over your shoes.
I would also advise you to stay away from regular fit and shoulder-padded suit jackets. Those look terrible and will ruin your outfit.
Shopping on a budget: You can probably find some great deals by checking for retail store sales. You should check them out.
4. Find key accessories.
You don’t need to spend crazy money on your outfit because you can find some cool, affordable pieces that will also look good.
The right accessories will give your outfit a luxurious touch.
You don’t need to buy a 10K Rolex watch, but find some key accessories that stand out. Instead of having three not-so-good watches, buy one for the price of the three.
Change your bulky wallet for a card case. Who carries cash nowadays? A lot of places accept phone payments, so there is no need to be carrying a brick on your back pant pocket.
There are three main essential accessories men always carry with them; cellphone, wallet and keys. So make sure those three have something that differentiates them from the rest.
5. Wear men’s jewelry.
This could be part of the “key accessories,” but I wanted to put it separate to show the importance of it.
Like the accessories, jewelry was made to give men and women the luxury look. It gives that last touch on your outfit to make you look 110 percent.
Just like with watches, you should buy jewelry that has great quality and brings value to your style.

6. Talk like a gentleman.
A rich man knows how to present himself and talk in a polite way. This should be on the top of your list.
You should differentiate yourself from the “bro” type of guys. You can’t be cussing and saying bad words with every phrase that comes out of your mouth.
I have known many girls who complain about the men who approach them at a club like they are coming to buy a burger.
A lot of men want a woman of class, but they don’t know how to behave when they are in front of her.
Let the “bro” be a bro, and stand out by acting like a gentleman.
7. Take your grooming routine seriously.
If your outfit talks like a million dollars but your face looks like a $1 sandwich, you’re doing something wrong.
Another feature of looking like a successful man is to have a well-taken-care-of face and body.
You may have noticed those men who smell good with a smooth baby face, and you think that you need a lot of money to look like that. It’s actually more about making the time for it than spending a lot on products.
Most great men’s grooming products are affordable, so that’s not an excuse you can give. You probably will need only three products to start with: a facial washer, a scrub and a face lotion.
You should take your grooming routine just like you wash your teeth and take a shower every day.
8. Surround yourself with men of equal goals.
Choosing to become friends with other men who have the same likes and goals as you do is very important.
It is not about trying to get something from it, but it is about learning and getting familiarized with your new habitat.
9. Be active, and choose where you eat.
Well, it may not sound like something that you see in all men who look wealthy, but it does help.
If you are too lazy to hit the gym or practice sports at least a couple days per week, you probably are not going to care about the other topics in this post either.
How and where you eat also affect the rich, successful-looking outcome. You need to find cool restaurants and acquaint yourself with fine cuisine.
It is a matter of choice. Eating a street taco is cool, but choosing a famous chef restaurant that serves refined foods is something you will never forget.
10. Know what you post on your social network.
No matter if you like it or not, social media is part of your life, and you should treat it like the cover of your life resume.
Tell me, have you ever checked someone’s Facebook or Instagram to see what he or she was all about? Obviously, we have all done that.
What if you had your first meeting with your new boss, and you presented yourself as a man of status, no drink, no party, but when he goes to check your social page, the first thing he sees is your last insane Labor Day weekend in Vegas?
You should post pictures and videos of yourself that you want people to see. Choose each picture you post carefully, and present yourself as someone with value who appreciates the good things in life.
