The global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors, Drake has now tapped to coach Team Canada in the All-Star Celebrity Game for the 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend in his hometown.
According to Rolling Stone, Coach Aubrey has already assembled a strong looking roster that includes two-time MVP Steve Nash and Toronto Blue Jays right fielder Jose Bautista (who will both serve as assistant coaches), along with former NBA stars Tracy McGrady and Rick Fox, Arcade Fire’s Win Butler, tennis pro Milos Raonic, WNBA player Natalie Achonwa and HGTV’s Property Brothers, aka Drew and Jonathan Scott.
They’ll be faced off against Team America, coached by four-time All-Star Celebrity MVP and Nike athlete Kevin Hart, who has Michael B. Jordan, Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon, Chauncey Billups, Muggsy Bogues, Jason Sudeikis, Bryshere Y. Gray and reigning WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne in his selection. With a small case of national pride on the line, don’t expect much laughs between the two coaches.
The 2016 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will air live on February 12 on ESPN.
