Former Michigan State and NBA guard Keith Appling was arrested on gun charges for the third time this year. According to The Detroit News Appling was arrested around 9:10 P.M. Sunday night
Appling was driving a blue 2013 Dodge Challenger at the time police spotted him for making a traffic violation. Police say when they made contact with him they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and requested his driver’s license. Appling allegedly rolled up the window as the officer reached inside to try and get the license. The officer was able to get free without being hurt as Appling drove off.
Officers tracked him down a short while later. After they arrested Appling they went and backtracked the route in which he led them and they found a semi-automatic Beretta with 10 rounds inside of it. Appling was charged with fleeing and eluding, and carrying a concealed weapon.
The Former NBA player was arrested back in May, and in June. Appling was reportedly due back in court this week for his first two arrest and to find out when he is going on trial.
You can almost guarantee this third arrest won’t help his case one bit.
