What’s the best way to gauge Kanye West’s influence at the Three Stripes? It’s not just the sales numbers, or even the company’s soaring stock price, but rather Kanye’s expanding presence at adidas HQ. According to a new report from SLAM, there will be 20 dedicated employees in Portland working exclusively on Yeezy business, which includes a full line of sneakers and apparel for men and women. There are even plans to open stand-alone Yeezy stores in key global markets. Additionally, adidas will launch Yeezy basketball models in 2017. What’s significant here is that these will be performance models worn on the court by emerging adidas athletes in the NBA. Stay tuned for more.
