LG’s gargantuan 84-inch 4K HDTV first made its debut at CES, leaving everyone who saw it impressed by the sheer size and clarity of the device. Now the South Korean electronics maker has released the TV in its home country, with a worldwide release in September.
One thing that makes this TV so amazing is its ultra-high resolution capabilities. Standard HDTVs have a max pixel setting of 1,920 by 1,080. LG’s 4K HDTV can achieve resolutions as high as 4,000 by 3,000. Of course, there is currently very little commercial availability for such a high resolution image, but 4K is the display standard of the future, so LG is simply ahead of the curve.
The 84-inch 4K HDTV is selling for $22,000.
