You’re going to need a bigger bowl! Fisherman Mike Martin landed the catch of his life after he caught a giant goldfish.
He said he was stunned when he pulled the 3lb 15 inch long goldfish from the water in Lake Clair, Michigan. The 25 year old believes it was once a family pet that was released into the wild and just kept growing.
He said: ‘We see them all the time but, to actually catch them is rare. ‘Everybody wants to just dump them off their seawall and let them be free and this is what they turn into.’
Martin caught the giant goldfish while ice fishing for Perch. He said he has contacted state officials to see if he has set a new record for goldfish.
He plans to keep the fish and mount it on his wall. Goldfish are a member of the carp family and were one of the first fish to be domesticated and kept a pets.
