The NBA 2K video game series has pretty much conquered it all in the realm of virtual sports simulation. After running their EA Sports counterpart out of business, this game finally signed on Michael Jordan and added some of the greatest classic teams in the history of the league.
From there, they enlisted Jay-Z to executive produce the 2013 edition of the game. And this year, 2K has decided on the chosen one, LeBron James, to be their cover boy. These guys know how to form a monopoly — by taking everything that’s good in the game and popular culture, and giving it to their fans.
So how could they top themselves once again? Well it seems like the missing link would be the addition of Eauroleague teams. But that’s not even related to the NBA, so there’s no way they could do that, right? Wrong again.
2K Sports has shocked us one more time by announcing and releasing screenshots of their newest edition for NBA 2K14 — Euroleague! This is a major step for both the league and gaming franchises, as this move has literally never been done before. Read the press release from the Euroleage below:
2K Sports and Euroleague Basketball announced today an exclusive multi-year global partnership that will see top teams from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague introduced into NBA 2K14…This will mark the first time Euroleague teams have appeared in the critically acclaimed NBA 2K series. Fourteen teams in total will be integrated as playable teams in NBA 2K14, allowing fans of European basketball to pit their local teams against the biggest teams from the NBA for the very first time.
So exactly what teams can you expect to get your international groove on with later this year? Well, there are 14 to choose from and they are as follows:
