You won’t find anyone in college basketball more physically imposing than Baylor Bears big man Rico Gathers.
The 6-foot-6, 275 pounder is a load inside, which is why he’s regarded as one of the best rebounders in the country. Last year, Gathers led the Big XII conference in rebounding.
While Gathers could land on a NBA roster, he prefers taking his talents to the gridiron.
“I feel like it’s a natural fit for me,” Gathers said.
What position would he play?
Well, it appears he’ll take on a similar route as Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates at tight end.
“I feel like it’s a natural fit for me,” Gathers said.
Gathers hasn’t played football since 14-years-old, but with his size and athleticism, I can’t imagine the transition being too difficult. Plus, he already has one anonymous NFL team willing to help him out.
