Round 2. Just four days after dropping his diss track “Charged Up,” Drake takes aim at Meek Mill once more on his “Back to Back” freestyle.
On the three-minute track, the 6 God addresses the ghostwriting controversy head on, rapping, “This for ya’ll that think that I don’t write enough / They just mad ’cause I got the Midas touch.”
Drizzy goes on to bash Meek, who is currently opening for Nicki Minaj on her “Pinkprint Tour.” “You love her then you gotta get a world tour / Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour? / I know that you gotta be a thug for her / This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more.”
He keeps the insults coming. “Trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers / You gettin’ bodied by a singin’ ni**a.”
Meek was expected to drop a response record on Funkmaster Flex earlier this week, but it has yet to materialize. “I did another one, I did another one / You still ain’t did shit about the other one / Got the drink in me going back to back.”
Drake will undoubtedly have more to say when he headlines the sixth annual OVO Fest in Toronto this weekend. “I got the Fest in five days and it’s my shit / Soon as a ni**a hit the stage they gon’ ask if I can play this shit back to back.”
