A Japanese company has just introduced a new pair of pants that is guaranteed to keep you cool this summer. The new pants have a built-in air conditioning fan.
However, if you want the chill you might need to give up some of the comfort. There is a gentle whirring from the underwear, as well as inflation when the fan blows. The battery-powered fans inflate the pants “like a Michelin man.”
The Kuchofuku Air-Conditioned Cooling have two battery-powered fans built in and direct streams of air down the legs.
The pants, which are made of a polyester-cotton blend, feature the fans built into the pockets outside. The pants come in Khaki.
There is also a jacket that works in the same way. The jacket, designed by former Sony technician Hiroshi Ichigaya, produces a layer of circulating air which enhances sweat evaporation.
The four-inch fans are powered by AA batteries or by plugging them into a computer using a USB cable.
The electrical parts can be removed for washing.
