Running backs everywhere took a step backwards today after Notre Dame junior Cam McDaniel made a fool of himself during a live ESPN broadcast profiling the Fighting Irish as they gear up for the 2013 season.
After last year’s wild season where they went undefeated, then got smacked by Alabama in the National Championship game, Notre Dame looks to move forward by proving that they can compete with the best in country. With a chip on their shoulder, head coach Brian Kelly was mic’d up when the unthinkable happened.
Cameras panned to McDaniel, who was running full speed in the bag sleds, when he was stopped dead in his tracks. Coach Kelly watched nearby in amazement and I think from there he knows it’s going to be a long offseason.
