Like many other NBA players, Russell Westbrook, of the much talked about Oklahoma City Thunder, has found himself on the road in the offseason, this time on tour in Asia with Jordan Brand. Westbrook took a similar path to his ex-teammate, Kevin Durant, making his way through Asia starting in Beijing and onto Hong Kong, with his final stop being in Taiwan.
At each stop, Westbrook took the time to make public appearances at select shops, and visited a number of basketball courts throughout to hold skills workshops and high-level competitions. As part of the official launch of the AJXXXI, the 5-time NBA All-Star, showed off the new Jordan silhouette extensively both on and off the court – even providing some with a sneak peak of an upcoming “Shattered Backboard” colorway.
We followed Russell through an eventful two days in Hong Kong where he attended a Jordan WINGS event, played alongside local colligate athletes and even participated in some Jordan-inspired arts and crafts. We also got an opportunity to sit down with the prospective MVP, to talk about his comparisons to MJ, his sneaker collection (over 1,000 pairs) and his thoughts on the upcoming season for his Thunder squad.
