It’s been 5 crazy days for not just the family of Michael Brown, but also the suburb of Ferguson. Days and Nights of protests that have resulted in more police brutality, tear gas, journalist arrests, rubber bullets, and more. Today the police have finally released the name of the officer who shot down Michael Brown in Ferguson, St. Louis. According to Chief Thomas Jackson, the officer is Darren Wilson, who has been on the force for six years.
ABC News reported that no disciplinary action has been taken against Wilson since shooting Brown.
I’s been stated that the confrontation resulted from suspicions of an alleged robbery that occurred minutes before. The robbery, which allegedly occurred at a local convenience store, was considered “strong-armed,” and was covered in a police report that was handed out during Jackson’s press conference. Who says he needed to be shot and killed though?
Citizens all over the United States have been protesting the police department for their brutality. Yesterday, nationwide protest was organized via social networks, where arrests were made in NYC from a march that was led from Union Square to Times Square in Manhattan.
We pray for the family of Michael Brown, and hope that justice can be served.
