Your girlfriend sneaking into your phone after discovering your passcode will finally be a thing of the past, as new smartphones will feature facial and fingerprint recognition in order to be unlocked.
Voice recognition will also be another method to further secure smartphones, making online bank and all other activities much safer.
Passwords and passcodes are looked at as an outdated form of security, and Apple is one of several companies to explore new techniques.
The new iPhone is speculated to possess a new form of protection for users, with many believing it will be fingerprint recognition.
Google is said to be examining voice recognition, iris scanners and heartbeat readings as potential options for security.
“It’s a case of looking beyond passwords and the best alternatives are provided by smartphones,” said Michael Barratt, head of security at PayPal.
“The general view is that Apple will launch a fingerprint-enabled iPhone before the end of the year.
“The Android handset market intends to stay competitive so it’s highly likely there will be fingerprint and voice identification- enabled devices from them too in the near future.”
Apple purchased a firm that specializes in fingerprint technology last year, and many believe it will be for this year’s iteration of the iPhone.
