Nike is set to launch a KD 7 Lifestyle, dubbed “Longhorn State,” that would do Bevo proud. Inspired by Kevin Durant’s brief tenure at the University of Texas, the shoe has an upper dressed in pony hair, standing in for a steer’s spotted hide. Complementary hits of black finish the suede flocked midsole, signature strap and tongue, where Durant’s initials are displayed in tonal fashion. The Swoosh on the toe and heel marks two of KD’s greatest collegiate achievements — leading all freshmen in scoring and becoming the first freshman ever to win the Naismith College Player of the Year. A Zoom Air Bag in the heel and a gum rubber outsole round out the details. The Nike KD 7 Lifestyle “Longhorn State” launches January 9th at select Nike Sportswear retailers and online.
