Nothing says America more than diners and quickie-weddings, so it’s no surprise that the new Denny’s near the Las Vegas strip that features a wedding chapel is sure to be a hit.
The 6,400-foot Denny’s is the first of the 1,700 in the chain to boast such a feature, as newlyweds can dine on the finest mass-cooked bacon the States have to offer.
The chapel is set to host weddings at the top of 2013, with a celebrity wedding slated for February.
“I kind of hope it’s Kim Kardashian because then you could have repeat performances,” architect James Wines quipped at the ribbon cutting.
The restaurant is set to be one of the most outlandish things around, even in Sin City.
“A normal Denny’s is not going to cut it in Vegas,” said Frances Allen, chief marketing officer.
In order to convince people to wed at Denny’s, it also features a full bar, making it one of only 50 Denny’s to have such a feature.
“It’s unique. It’s different,” Allen told the Las Vegas Sun over the summer, ahead of the Denny’s opening, saying that it will be a magnet for curious tourists.
“The wedding scene is such a part of Vegas, and who doesn’t want a wedding cake made out of pancakes?”
Am I surprised that it has come to this? No, not at all, actually… Merely disappointed.
