Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper has been arrested after a car crash that killed one and has left four including Tracy Morgan severely injured.
According to Gothamist, police say that Roper will more than likely be charged in the incident. The truck driver dozed off while on the New Jersey Turnpike around 1 a.m.
As Roper woke up, he tried to avoid hitting the limo carrying Morgan and his friends, but failed. The truck struck the rear of the limo causing it to overturn and strike three cars.
Writer and comedian James McNair died while Morgan is currently in critical condition.
Morgan’s ex-wife Sabrina Morgan says that comedian broke his leg and is worried about his injures.
“He’s not in good shape,” Morgan said. “I’m traumatized. I’m so upset. I can’t believe it. It’s like I’m in a nightmare.”
Morgan’s rep Lewis Kay issued another statement about his progress earlier today.
“While Tracy remains in critical condition, he has been more responsive today, which is an incredibly encouraging sign,” Kay said. “Morgan suffered a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs, among other injuries. He had surgery earlier today on his leg,” the rep said. “We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
