The Huffington Post’s Troy Durham has created a map that shows how much an ounce of weed usually goes for in each U.S. state.
The western states obviously have it the best, as it is legal at the state level in Washington and Colorado, but production and distribution are still highly-regulated. The northwest, on the other hand, has it the worst. Thank goodness the stuff we get over here in New York is almost if not just as good as genuine Cali buds.
We’re still paying way too much, though. If only our politicians were as cool as the hippies running sh*t over there.
The Post’s Katy Hall writes that some experts predict an open legal weed market could cost about as much as “other legal herbs such as tea or tobacco” because growing and storing it is so cheap.
Earlier this week, Uruguay’s top drug official said the country will soon sell weed for just $1 a gram, not to bolster the economy, but to destroy the black market. Also, a Gallup poll released Tuesday found that a record 58% of Americans support marijuana legalization.
