A French college student has reportedly made thousands of dollars by selling cans of fresh air from his home country.

According to NewsBite, Antoine Deblay one day came up with the idea of selling 250-milliliter tin cans of air from his home town of Montcuq in the southwest of France.

The 22-year-old initially posted his plan on French crowdfunding website KissKissBankBank, and was shocked to have raised the equivalent of over $1,000 in just under a month.

Three weeks after setting up a website offering the “100% bio” product for £4 (about $7) plus an extra £4.60 for shipping, Antoine had received requests for approximately 1,000 orders.

His non-French speaking customers, however, most likely do not understand why the cans make such a humorous gift.

The town of Montcuq is often mispronounced as “mon cul,” which translates to English as “my backside.”

Written on each of Antoine’s cans is “Air de Montcuq,” so this can be translated to “the air of my backside.”

“Fresh air of Montcuq is 100% organic, it immerses you in the depths of the city to refresh your ideas. Ideal when you are in need of creative inspiration,” Deblay said, according to NewsBite.
Anyone craving some air from my backside should get their can now as Deblay is promising to only sell 10 liters a week.
