Alan Kaufman is using Kickstarter to look for funding to mass produce his ground-breaking invention: the world’s first, hands-free umbrella.

The “Nubrella” is worn like a backpack and features an aerodynamic canopy hood that shields the entire body from precipitation. Nubrella has already been featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank” and has apparently sold thousands of units around the world, but it still needs more funding to fulfill the obligations it is seeking.

“Nubrella’s ‘patent pending’ new designs are not intended to be a replacement for your traditional umbrella, but rather a new weapon in your current arsenal of weather protection gear and apparel,” wrote Kaufman on its Kickstarter page. “Simply put, Nubrella solves existing problems but more importantly serves the huge unmet need of viable hands-free weather protection.”

The downside is that most people would not want to be seen in public wearing this thing because it looks just a tad peculiar. But, its convenience is impossible to deny and people may have said the same thing about regular umbrellas when they were first invented.

The Nubrella comes in various colors and sizes as well as in different models available for different environments.

If you think the world could really benefit from this creation, go on to the Nubrella Kickstarter page and show your support for Alan Kaufman, who would have made a killer contestant on “Figure-it-Out” in our more tender years.
