North Carolina high school senior Quintin Murphy ripped off his gown to reveal leopard-print underwear as he walked off stage at his graduation ceremony on Wednesday.
The crowd found it hilarious, but Jack Britt High School administrators, seated just behind him, weren’t laughing.
The boy will not receive his diploma and has been banned from school property and all school-related events, including sports games. Murphy currently plays on the school’s football team.
The video shows Murphy pausing just before he’s about to be handed his proxy diploma, turning towards the audience and lifting his purple robe over his head. His pants had been removed at his seat.
Murphy takes off a white dress shirt and poses like a gymnast, his arms raised in victory as the crowd cheers. He scurries off stage past the woman handing out the certificates.
The ceremony then resumed as if nothing had happened.
