There’s being athletically gifted, then there’s being a freak of nature. But when you combine the two and put that into a 7’1″ high school sophomore’s body, you get Thon Maker.
Already a legend in the making, the class of 2016 star is getting all kinds of attention out of Carlisle School in Martinsville, Virginia by not only being ridiculously tall for a 15-year-old, but for possessing a skill set that you just don’t see any big man have today.
Think of Thon as a very raw hybrid version of Kevin Garnett meets Kevin Durant. He’s long and lanky with impressive post moves but also has excellent ball handling skills and of course a silky smooth jump shot. Oh yeah, and he locks up on defense!
Sky is truly the limit for Thon who has all of the potential in the world. While he has two more years to finish up in high school, he’s already considering Arizona, Georgetown, Miami and Virginia as college suitors. But can the NBA just draft teenagers again?
