The late, great Nate Dogg left more than just his classic G-Funk style to the world when he passed away in 2011. Primarily being known as a pioneer in the rap game during the hip hop revolution, not many are aware that he also left behind a son who can play some ball.
Meet Naijiel Hale, the seed of iconic west coast rap legend Nathaniel Dwayne Hale. Playing for one of the most prominent prep schools in the country — St. John Bosco (Bellflower, California) — he has quietly made a name for himself as one of the premier high school cornerbacks in the state. Rivals.com currently ranks him as the no. 35 player in California, as he has earned an impressive four-star recruitment title (five stars being the top tier).
After receiving offers from schools such as Akron, Arizona State, Boise State, Nebraska, Nevada, San Jose State, Utah and Washington State, he has finally made his decision, heading into his senior year of high school.
His choice? None other than the University of Arizona. He’s going to be a Wildcat! Standing at 5’11″ and weighing in at 170 Ibs., he is the perfect size for bluechip a college secondary defender. And just how good is he? Let’s just say the kid is a ball hawk and can lay out any receiver. Check out his junior year highlights below.
